Who's in the know?

Who likes to make stuff up?

Who gets it right?

Couldn't find a transfer thread for British teams only (apologies if this exists). Feel free to cut and paste from your own information gathering and let's see who we may see in the EPL this season and who we'll miss. (please note your source if you can recall it)

My first contribution is Liverpool related from Liverpool-Rumours.co.uk who I find have a decent strike rate

List of Players Liverpool have "Interest" in

Emre Can - done
Adam Lallana - done
Yevhen Konoplyanka
Dejan Lovren - done
Hector Moreno - done
Marcos Rojo
Ryan Bertrand
Dani Parejo
Will Hughes

List of Players Liverpool have "Enquired" about

Heung Ming Son
Caner Erkin
William Carvalho
Xherden Shaqiri
Viktor Fischer
Cristian Tello
Dusan Tadic
Roberto Firmino

Unlikely Leverkusen will sell Son this season, he has only recently moved there. Sidney Sam has left Leverkusen for S04 with Drmic coming in from Nuremberg - so alongside Brandt and Kruse not greatest depth and won't want to sell unless it's a big big fee to get him.

Could see Firmino leaving Hoffenheim. He has had a great season and is good player, Hoffenheim have been one of the entertainers in Europe (142 goals in BDL matches they have played) but are small club.

Son is seen as a loan to Liverpool to get some experience of European football given their thin squad but with an option to buy.

Liverpool has also been linked with Pogba (like every other team in the world) but can;t see that happening in a million years unless Pogba would do it just to keep his feud with Sir Alex going.

I also see that Kroos, Konoplyanka have turned down Man Yoo (lthough LVG declined Kroos depending on who you listen to due to no CL football.

Rumours of Rio Ferdinand joining QPR or Hull City

In management rumours, Lennon to come in and take over from Mel at WBA after leaving Celtic.

Even less likely that Leverkusen would loan Son. Would Liverpool loan Sturridge (or Suarez)? Leverkusen are in the UCL playoff spot after finishing 4th in the BDL.
In regards to Man Utd transfer targets, every player's agent is going to talk up no European football only to leverage more money and Utd it seems do have the money with record revenues and profits this season and new big sponsorship deals coming on board next season papering over no European football. Comparing to Liverpool, Utd spend less as a % of revenue on wages and would have drop revenues ~80m to match % outlay on players wages.

Son would only cost 12m as it stands right now so they might want to tie him down with a larger valuation/better contract.

200m is the amount Man Yoo have to spend but that didn't help THFC. What kind of transfer record does LVG have?

I don't know where that 12m is from, that's close to what Leverkusen paid HSV for him and he still has 4 years left on his contract. I'm unaware of a buy-out clause but 12m would be ridiculously stupid, absolutely ridiculous, on Leverkusen's part if that is the case.

I tend to agree that a big turnover of players and a new coach, like Spurs, can have a negative impact on performance. Will have to see. BTW as I pointed out in the Man Utd thread last week that Van Gaal has dropped interest in Kroos supposedly (a day after a deal for 20m was being reported as close to being completed) - so who knows, all I know is that Kroos (who has 1 yr left on his contract) will be trying to get the most out of Bayern and stories like this helps his cause.

...and in other news, some lazy cutting and pasting on my behalf here from Football365.com

OOOH, BASTIAN...
This is interesting. After seemingly turning down the chance to sign Toni Kroos, Louis van Gaal has apparently targeted another Bayern central midfielder - Bastian Schweinsteiger. The Sun claim that 29-year-old Schweinsteiger could be the victim of a summer overhaul by Pep Guardiola and could end his long Bayern association with a £32m move to Manchester United this summer. There are a lot of 'ifs', 'buts' and 'maybes', but he would certainly be one hell of a signing. The Sun also mention Arjen Robben as a possible target but that seems highly unlikely.

One name mentioned on Friday was James McCarthy, but the Liverpool Echo claim that 'Everton boss Roberto Martinez remains keen on a move for Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley but will not be sacrificing McCarthy to clinch any deal'.

KHEDIRA FOR ARSENAL?
We suggested Sami Khedira as a possible target for Chelsea earlier this week, but the German would also be an excellent fit for Arsenal, who need somebody to replace the rapidly waning Mikel Arteta in the centre of midfield. The Sunday Mirror claim that the Gunners are reviving their interest in a midfielder who could be available for just £15m, less than half the price Barcelona want for Cesc Fabregas.

Meanwhile, The Sun claim that Samuel Eto'o hopes to stay in London next season and would love to join Arsenal or Tottenham. He would certainly be a handy (but expensive) back-up at both clubs.

CECH OUT TOTTENHAM'S TARGET
The Sunday Mirror's claim that Tottenham will move for Petr Cech this summer is rather dependent on whether Thibault Courtois will return to Chelsea this summer and whether Jose Mourinho wants to keep both his rather excellent keepers. As yet, we don't have the answers to those questions. But if Cech is deemed surplus to requirements, he could certainly do worse than hop over to Tottenham, who seem likely to sell Hugo Lloris this summer if one of Barcelona, Paris St Germain or Roma come up with £30m.

AND THE REST
Mauricio Pochettino is ready to pledge his future to Southampton despite continuing talk of an offer from managerless Tottenham...Teddy Sheringham is poised to join West Ham's coaching staff to assist their spluttering strikers...Sunderland boss Gus Poyet hopes to sign former Crystal Palace keeper Julian Speroni...Marouane Chamakh has agreed a new deal to stay with Palace...Frank Lampard hopes to find out his Chelsea future this week...Fulham have slapped a £15m price tag on teenage sensation Patrick Roberts to ward off interest from Manchester United...Former Celtic boss Neil Lennon is in the running to take over from Pepe Mel at West Brom...

...Spurs defender Danny Rose has opened talks with the club over a new contract...James Milner is likely to opt for free agency next summer by letting his Manchester City contract wind down - he has been linked with Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal...Newcastle full-back Mathieu Debuchy is likely to leave the club this summer with a move to Monaco on the cards...Fulham could launch a £2m bid for Ipswich striker David McGoldrick...Southampton full-back Nathaniel Clyne is the latest player from St Mary's to be linked with a summer move to Liverpool...Tottenham are on the trail of Basel centre-back Fabian Schar...

...West Ham have sounded out Nice full-back Timothee Kolodziejczak as a possible summer signing if they are unable to secure the services of Norwich's Martin Olsson...Chris Hughton would jump at the chance of becoming the new manager at Sky Bet Championship side Brighton...Sheffield United could make a summer move to sign Liverpool striker Conor Coady on a permanent deal after he impressed on loan last season - but Brendan Rodgers has slapped a £1.5m price tag on the youngster...Newcastle are weighing up a move for Steve Sidwell, a free agent after his deal with Fulham comes to an end this summer...Newcastle have earmarked Lyon midfielder Clement Grenier as their replacement for Yohan Cabaye, who was so sorely missed after his January move to Paris Saint-Germain

IMO Pochettino has disaster written all over it. Over achieved with a club with low expectations (not saying he isn't a great manager) but will be a different scenario in a club with high expectations and a trigger happy owner

Southampton have been pretty impressive this season. Highest % possession in the EPL yet only the 9th highest pass success rate shows just how well they win back possession when they lose it. They also play the 2nd highest amount of long balls per game yet also a lot of short passes, 5th on the amount of short pass per game. I think that shows some tactical pragmatism of mixing up game play and not allowing the opposition to settle into a rhythm. Defensively they also only conceded the 2nd least amount of shots per game.

I don't think his appointment has disaster written all over it. He will need to get the players behind him and possibly need to bring in/sell some players but I think he is a better bet than Sherwood on getting Spurs to where they want to be.

I think any team with large egos and squads worth that much need a more experienced manager, which is why I think LVG is a good choice for Man Yoo (he has pedigree).

Some more lazy cut and paste from Football365.com

I'd just like to say that Spurs don't seem to have ANY scouts. They just read what Liverpool are going to do and then grab those players by offering over the odds for them. LFC should leak 250m quid interest in Heskey and bankrupt them!

SPURS TARGET LALLANA
In what could be the most predictable transfer gossip of the summer, Tottenham have suddenly been linked with a number of Southampton players following Mauricio Pochettino's appointment at White Hart Lane.

The Guardian claim that Spurs are set to rival Liverpool for Adam Lallana, who would cost in the region of £20m, while the Daily Star report that Jay Rodriguez is also a target.

The Saints striker is also attracting interest from Liverpool and Arsenal after hitting 18 goals in all competitions before injury wrecked his World Cup hopes.

UNITED WANT RABIOT
We're always excited to see new names in the gossip instead of the same old faces - despite how handsome Toni Kroos might be - so we're intrigued by reports linking Manchester United to Paris St-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

The 19-year-old midfielder made 25 appearances in PSG's Ligue 1 title victory, scoring two goals, and has three caps for the French under-21 side.

According to the Daily Mail: 'The 19-year-old is interested in leaving Paris as he is keen to play more games.

'Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City have all monitored his progress in recent months but United have also added him to their list of potential summer signings.'

LIVERPOOL WANT BIG BUCKS FOR ASSAIDI
Oussama Assaidi might be surplus to requirements at Liverpool, but that isn't going to stop the Reds demanding a big fee for the winger.

Stoke are interested in Assaidi following his successful loan spell this season but, according to The Telegraph, Mark Hughes may have to stump up £7m to secure the Moroccan on a permanent deal.

'Rodgers is happy to sell Assaidi, a £3.5 million signing from Heerenveen in August 2012, but Liverpool are demanding a significant fee for the 25 year-old,' report The Telegraph.

'Stoke believe the valuation is unrealistic and are confident of haggling with Liverpool in a bid to lower the price to a more acceptable level.'

Meanwhile, Pepe Reina is reportedly in no rush to sort out his future after returning from a loan spell at Napoli.

AND THE REST
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger could return for Swedish midfielder Kim Kallstrom after the 31-year-old's loan spell was disrupted by a back injury...Manchester City's Aleksandar Kolarov is wanted by Monaco with Italian trio AC Milan, Juventus and Roma also keen...West Brom could make another move for Juventus striker Fabio Quagliarella after pulling out of a move for the Italy international last summer...Danish striker Nicklas Bendtner is wanted by Leicester City, Burnley, Crystal Palace and Hull City after being ditched by Arsenal...

Queens Park Rangers will revive their interest in West Brom defender Jonas Olsson...Chelsea want Real Madrid's French defender Raphael Varane, 21, to replace PSG-bound David Luiz...Queens Park Rangers are looking at Newcastle defender Steven Taylor in addition to Rio Ferdinand...Wigan manager Uwe Rosler is emerging as a candidate to be the new Celtic boss...Arsenal are considering a £6m move for Norwich keeper John Ruddy to provide competition for Wojciech Szczesny...Chelsea have agreed a deal to bring Atletico Madrid midfielder Tiago back to Stamford Bridge on a free transfer...

Valencia are rivalling Arsenal for the signing of Benfica striker Rodrigo...River Plate, Boca Juniors and Newell's Old Boys are all keen on Sunderland striker Ignacio Scocco...Cardiff City are hoping to sign Reading striker Adam Le Fondre in a £1million deal...QPR manager Harry Redknapp believes striker Loic Remy will leave the club with Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea all interested...Kurt Zouma, who signed for Chelsea in January, could spend next season back on loan at St Etienne.

Lots of bits and pieces from the weekend, who has some great rumors for us? Here are mine...

·  AC Milan have agreed a fee to see Balotelli move to Arsenal

·  Fabregas coming back to the Prem and could be one of 5 destinations – Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, City

·  Sanga is all but finalised to move to City

·  Liverpool still chasing Alexis Sanchez

·  Inter Milan want Hernandez & Torres

·  Ashley Williams to leave Swans for QPR (why?!?)

·  New S’hampton boss to get a $50m transfer kitty

About that...
Terrible way to treat a proper legend of the club. If he had played for LFC, MUFC or AFC, he'd be getting a big send off and the last home game would have been a real celebration. Instead, he gets a 'have your locker cleared by 5pm and leave your car pass with reception'. ROUGH!
