Just thought I'd share my one and only Loftus Road experience with you QPR guys. It was way back in 1982 on a family holiday to the UK. My uncle was a QPR supporter and took me and my dad along for a then Division 2 game ( The Championship these days) against Wrexham. QPR were 4th at the time and Wrexham were 2nd bottom so a home win was expected.
We sat in the Ellerslie Road stand quite near the front and were level with the edge of the penalty area. Seated tickets back then were only 3 quid!!
Terry Venables was the manager and the starting line up was Peter Hucker, Warren Neill, Terry Fenwick, Gary Waddock, Ernie Howe, Glenn Roeder, Clive Allen, John Gregory, Tony Currie, Simon Stainrod and Ian Gillard. Mike Flanagan replaced Neill in the 2nd half.
Wrexham led 1-0 at half time before Stainrod got a 2nd half equaliser. I only have a few memories from the game as it was so long ago and I was only 13 at the time. I do remember being impressed by Ernie Howe that day even though Roeder was the more recognised centre back. I also remember Clive Allen picking the ball up in front of us for a throw and thinking that was as close as I'd ever got to an Arsenal player. ( He'd been signed 2 years previously and then sold after 3 friendly games in exchange for Kenny Sansom) I never got to see Arsenal during that holiday as Britain was experiencing one of its worse winters in decades. Of course, QPR had the famous Omniturf at the time. I've always followed their fortunes ever since and they then toured New Zealand in 1983. Dad and I went to the game at the Basin Reserve against a Wellington Invitation XI.

Never has it been clearer to me that money speaks! Two of the players we at Col U rate highest in the country, Connelly and Ephraim have now signed for QPR!!

We could not afford either the wages or the transfer fees for these two fine players we have had on loan. Both have played their way into Col U fans hearts. Ephraim is one of the most talented players ever to pull on a Col U shirt in my opinion.

Now the Rs have them you lucky lucky people.

There is no way QPR can go anywhere except up with this calibre of signings.

Connelly is a great signing. I have seen him play a bit and he has a great touch on him. I hope to see him with you guys  in the Premiership in 2009

....Interesting comments on Soccerney.com........

Akos Buzsaky began the match against his parent club after his double lifted the west Londoners off the foot of the Coca-Cola Championship in last Saturday's 2-1 win over Colchester. The 25-year-old Hungarian midfielder will join Rangers in a 500,000 deal next month; the transfer is anticipated to be the first of many after the investment of Indian steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal. Mittal's input combined with the wealth of Formula One moguls Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio Briatore means manager Luigi De Canio is expected to be given substantial funds............

500k is a bargain, he's a more than useful player.

Done deal, fee "undisclosed". Great to see him settling in!

Whats Keiron Lee like? On loan from Man United. Cool, Hogan permanent, Buzsaky permanent, Connolly permanent. All young players keen to become something.

Lee played in the league cup win against Crewe in 2006. Scored a last minute goal which was quite an impressive run from a full back. Looks like he's quite an attacking full back.

Considering we started with a couple of new players I think we did well. I listned to the game and their goal sounds jammy. Off the back of someones head. We certainly held our own against a surprisingly strong Chelsea side. Wright-Phillips was causing us a few problems.

In 2003, a slighty younger version of myself moved to London to do that thing all antipodeans are supposed to do: Spend 2-4 years in the UK and get smashed.

My first place I lived in was a lovely little share house in Kensal Rise - not too far from Loftus Road.

While I enjoyed football I didn't know too much about it but it wasn't until I started living in the shadow of Loftus Road I started to really enjoy the game.

My very first professional football game I watched was QPR vs Cheltenham in March 2003. I watched and I was hooked - although I had no idea what was going on.

But after that, I recognised names like Gallen and Furlong.

Unfortunately, being a newbie I was lured by my friends generosity in giving me a free Spurs season pass and so I became a supporter of White Hart Lane however I will always have a soft spot for QPR.

Incidentally, QPR won that match 4-1. It was great!

Couple of good chants from the cup game against Chelsea, from the BBC Sport website:

"We won't be signing you!"
QPR fans to Shaun Wright-Phillips during their FA Cup third round tie at Chelsea.

"We forgot that you were here."
QPR fans when Chelsea finally decided to start singing.
"We forgot that you exist!"
Chelsea fans reply.

I see we're interested in Spurs new first team keeper and he wants to sign for us as his loan finishes at seasons end and Spurs haven't done a thing. We're also interested in the Villa reserve keeper Sorensen too. Don't rule out a move for Lee Cook either.

Now if they bought the school end and those houses to the left, we could expand the stadium. But I doubt if they'd get resource consent. Probably cost 20 million just to buy the real estate but it could be done.

In 2013 When we beat Inter to win the European Cup, we will have 8.1 million fans world wide!

Not too bad a midfielder, probably play really well for you. Most players who leave QPR find their form again. A sad but true fact.

WTF against Cardiff? 3-1? And the game finished 3-1 too! Well done Cardiff, i see you're on a 9 match unbeaten run now.

depending what you read we've either got him for  a month or until season's end

yeah i noticed the cardiff result, bit surprised but i guess it'll take a while for your signings to settle in
