Jack Pelter??
I do apologise in advance for not knowing how this player is.
The report said he played for Canterbury United last year.
He has been offered a trial at Sunderland and came on for the second half during there 1-0 loss to Sc**thorpe in the weekend.

He played in the NZ U20's squad, a discussiion on his goal was here: http://www.yellowfever.co.nz/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=917
And some more discussion from last week here:
Not very flattering what they wrote in the Times...
Daryl Murphys shot
against the post aside, it failed to improve considerably
thereafter, defender Jack Pelter,
Sunderlands New
Zealand-born trialist, afforded ample opportunity, but largely
failing, to impress as the hosts again dominated.
That scentance is so badly written I can hardly tell what it
actually means.
Is it saying that Pelter was afforded plenty of opportunity
but filaed to impress?, or
That Pelter afforded his team plenty of opportunity, who
failed to impress? . . .
Yeah pretty poor English.
The way I read it was that he was given plenty of
opportunities to impress, but largely failed.
But then why would they single out one defender, unless he was
really, really bad.
Might check out some Sunderland boards and see what they've
said.
Just found this on another website...
Keane also gave triallist Jack Pelter 45 minutes to impress, but the New Zealand centre-half did not stand out.
In fact, had this been a competitive game, the 18-year-old might well have been sent off after hauling down Peter Winn when the sub was through on goal.
Just visited a Sunderland fanzine http://www.readytogo.net
and alot of the fans and suipporters had no idea they even had a NZ trialist.

This is a thread from www.readytogo.net
It seems that they had a good tiome ripping him to pieces.

Oh dear...I think even the guy that said Roy should sign him up was
being sarcastic.
