Yeah, Pedersen too in doubt but could be a 'tactic of words'!

The boys will have great support today but it will be a very tight game. I reckon a 1-1 draw but this could go either way.

Plenty of people in Hull lokking for a 'skype' as KCFM have been banned from broadcasting the game.

there's a bloke on the footymad city site said he's going to skype it and a different bloke who usually skypes it as well (though he might have been using the KCFM broadcast)

up until they sorted the drm last season (i think) there was ussually someone who could set up a reflector site for the official website commentary - those were the days

lost 2-0 at bramhall lane

not good, but it as only three or four weeks ago that i started thinking about automatic promotion and would have happily taken upper-mid table in august

so looks like the playoffs - only wolves can knock us out of those and they'd need to make up a 17 goal gap in goal difference in three games for them and two for us

we need our Col u connection to come through and beat stoke next weekend - how about it Oprewise and willyB ??

Don't worry, tigers, the play-offs are fun.
I just love them - knocked out in the semi-finals a record FIVE times. A real ball of laughs.
Some of my greatest memories (he says, hands trembling, grimaced smile, remembering what the shrink told him about staying positive).

we may well meet your lot there, quite a bit will rest on the last league game of the season

I'm not sure your words have been a huge consolation though

whatever the outcome of the season, we will have done better than i expected

my concern is that if we don't go up this season we will face next season without Frazier Campbell, and windass will be a year slower or retired

time will tell, as the cliche has it

enjoy the last weeks (but not too much)

My own personal opinion is that although we have had the greatest season in the Clubs history we are nowhere near ready for Premier League Football and I wouldn't be too disappointed if we didn't get promotion.
If we did we would not have Frazier next season as he would go to greener pastures. Deano, Nick and Jay-Jay have got one foot in the pastures already whilst Henrik and Caleb appear to have permanent residence there. Boaz is two or three seasons away from his best and therefore ill equipped for the standard of Premier League football. Just my opinion - I'm not trying to start a bun-fight but facts are facts. This leaves us with little or no 'quality' players whatsoever and bear in mind that the "3 year plan" is still in force so we still have another two seasons to build.
With Fulham, Derby and Wigan, Bolton or Birmingham coming down, as well as those left from the play-offs, I agree with Tigers that we will struggle next season if we don't go up this season but without a competitive team I fear the worst.
The question is: Can Hull City attract 'quality' players whether we get promoted or not?

cheers LG -  but West Brom aren't really our problem right now (though you never know what the situation will be by the last game), but if you could find a way to nobble Stoke

You raise a fair point OzTiger - but part of me just wants us to go up - even if we are unlikely to stay - perhaps i should have more fatih in duffen's longer term strategies and his commitment

You guys gotta win tonight and get that promotion spot. meanwhile we gotta win at Norwich and help send them down!! Pay back for 1975/76 ! Not that QPR fans bare a grudge or anything.

Of course not - but I wish you luck!
The auto promotion spots look taken for me which means 'bye-bye' Frazier. We could win our last two and finish the season on a high, then get to Wembley through the play-offs but with no prospects of attracting players this season I won't be too disappointed if we don't make it to the Premier League.

The thing is, if Hull goes up, everyone gets a taste of the premiership and if you come straight back down for three years you will be getting the parachute payment. for a club run as sensibly as yours, it wont get frittered away, but invested properly! I can see hull doing a "Reading" myself.

whilst it seems unlikely that Stoke or (almost impossible) that west Brom will stumble you never know

certainly finishing with 6 points from these games would set us up nicely for the playoffs

and yep, unlike the sensible view of OzTiger, I want to go up this season

edit, just read your latest post LG - cheers for your optimism!!

For Ipswich to make the play-offs, we need to beat Hull and hope Watford, Palace and Wolves all lose. Talk about a long shot.
Might as well hope Hull win and get automatic promotion. One thing though, tigers, Town have got the best record at home in the division - 14-7-1 - which means we've collected 49 of our 66 points at home.
And LG - what happened to that promise to nobble the Budgies? First you take two vital points off us at home and then roll over to those six-fingered twats.

Don't start me, but his name is damion Stewart. a Conference CD at best. Sent off after 5 minutes after camp - our goaly, fouled a Norwich player. I gather the idiot mouthed off at the referee. Waiting for confirmation on that. I'm seething!

Oz Tiger has some sensible points. Derby went up too early and see what happened. Similar in seasons before with Sunderlands first attempt and with Watford. That has the potential to destroy a club.

A medium term plan to recruit for the future whilst still managing to win for the day is the trick. City do have a renewal problem with many of the players being on last legs!!

Anyway it is hard to control these things...what will be will be! ColU fans send their best wishes.

the only way we'll finish as champions LG , is if between us we knock 12 or so goals off Albion's goal diff

I'll settle for (haha - 'settle' - I'd be f**king deliriously happy!! )  promotion either via the foxes survival instincts  or play-offs!

I reckon i deserve a medal (a replica 2nd place medal would do nicely)

I've just spent 4.5 hours in a work meeting and even when someone said the name Wagstaff, i limited myself to merely  saying  "that's also the name of a great footballer"

i did not burst into song,

i did not explain to people just what else would be happening a they slept easily in their beds tonight,

i did not punch the air and scream "CMON CITY" at the top of my voice

consequently, they might still think I'm a bit wierd but basically normal -fools!

One more point from somewhere over 46 matches and it would have been Hull City v. Ipswich Town in the play-offs.
Still, I know who I'm supporting in the play-offs now.

I expected the football romantic in you couldn't go past the Tigers, UDB

and whilst i'll never match your 'commitment' i did think of parts of your book when i was sat in a dark suburb, tapping on a keyboard and trying to follow two games on the scant soccernet gamecasts and  on the citymad site - no static, but just as frustrating as the BBC world service in the dark

but i just couldn't bear the thought of having to answer the question - "Where were you when we were promoted?" with the response "Asleep".

If El Grap is right and the final is on live - touch wood we'll be playing - there'll be a bit of a family reunion up in Palmy I'd expect!

I should have thought to mention this earlier - Access Radio play the BBC World Service between midnight and 5am each night.
I listened last night from the comfort of my warm bed. The reception was so clear I could hear the Town fans singing joyously away in the background. It was beautiful beyond belief.
This is when you miss your football club the most. You can feel the warm sunshine of a spring afternoon and sense the pull of your tribe, despite being half a world away and in the midst of freezing cold Wellington night.
God, I love football - and that's after we missed the play-offs by a point.

perhaps hearing it would have only made it worse , at least you won on the day

but- yeah - brilliant bit of news that world service thing!!
the first time i heard an audio of a city match over the web, i could'nt believe how exciting it was but now the web audio commentaries are more effectively 'jammed' (or whatever the verb is related to drm)

must be a bit of a piss off when our 5.00 am is 4.oo pm over there, but yep better than a friggin gamecast!!

I had just about finished this post over an hour ago when we had an electricity power cut and we had to frantically sort through the drawers for our candles - which unfortunately do not power up our computers. We have just been re-connected thank goodness.
On Friday afternoon I had just completed my predictions for the weekend selection on the UK Forum for Footballs Prediction League (which I have been submitting since week one and where I was lying third a mere 6 points behind the leader) when a huge thunderstorm blew out our internet connection. We were out for 48 hours so I missed the 'cut-out' time for my predictions and I have no doubt that I will have dropped out of the 'prize-winning' positions now and will have to rely on a superhuman effort next week (the last week) if I am to regain my position. I was hoping therefore that Leicester and my beloved Tigers would bring me some joy yesterday but it was not to be.
I spare a thought for the once mighty Leicester who are now doomed to play in the unmentionable and unspeakable murky depths of League 1 (for the first time in their history) after not so long ago soaring with the cream of English Clubs in the dizzy heights of Premier League football.  How are the mighty fallen. I have no doubt that they will not be there for long.
I have the utmost confidence that we can beat Sir Elton's Watford in the home and away games but am not so confident against Crystal Palace who must surely beat Bristol City.
Should be very interesting. It's not over till it's over and there ain't no fat lady singing yet!
