Brighton v Palace

Wolves could knock over Swansea

Vegans might get their first ever match against a Prem side

I'm possibly going to punt the Exiles to dump Leeds

Forest away could be a bit tricky for the current holders and 13 times champions Arsenal. Should be able to get past them though.

Be great if Hereford win their replay and get through to play Leicester City. That would be top notch

Tottenham v AFC Wimbledon looks an interesting tie.

Thing is so many clubs don't care about the cup these days and put out reserve teams and the crowds are low.

I remember when the FA Cup was the glamour competition for world footy and the Cup final was the game of the season

aye showing my age...

One Saturday, many many years ago, both Everton and Liverpool had home ties. Both matches kicked off at the same time. Aggregate crowd for the two matches was about 100,000.

Everton 5 Wrexham 2.

Liverpool 2 Bury 0.

I don't think the big teams really put out reserves, but they do often rest one or two senior players in the 3rd/4th rounds, depending on the opposition.

Last year's FA Cup was a bit of a cracker with the semis comprising 4 of the current "big 6". They were excellent semi finals to watch too.

Personally I care more about it these days since Arsenal have become the most successful club in the competition to be fair hahahaha

Nothing beats the FA Cup. My Grandma used to live waking distance from Wembley Stadium and I was staying with her in 2009 when the Cup final between Chelsea and Everton took place. Even though it was 2 teams I didn't care for I walked down to stadium to soak up the pre game atmosphere and it was incredible. Was very envious of the fans getting to see their teams in the final. Never heard so many Scouser accents in one place like that (obviously until I actually went to Liverpool later on in the same trip).

It really is the greatest trophy.

Which is why I am so proud The Arsenal have won it a record 13 times.

At the other end of scale are the very early round ties.

This is one I was at.

Whyteleafe v Chester 1999.

Leafe were the better side all day. Chester went on to win the replay..

I've always held the FA Cup in high regard which again shows my age. The reason I support Arsenal is from watching my first FA Cup final live on TV in 1978 against Ipswich.

Back in 1990 I was in England and catching the train to Watford after the cup final between Man United and Crystal Palace had finished. As the train arrived, it was jammed packed full of United supporters so I managed to get on and find a spot. As I looked across from me, there was probably the only Palace supporter on the carriage sheepishly trying to keep a low profile.

FA cup 93 is my first memories of following/watching an English team. I think the first game i saw was Yeovil v Arsenal. I was sold on the gunners after that.

First Cup final I saw was Spurs v QPR reply in 1982, remember back in the day when they showed the cup final live on TV1. Ah those were the days: Big League Soccer on a Sunday, getting the English and Scottish results off national radio at 9am (i think it was).

9:05 - had to listen to the news first! I remember writing a large amount of letters to MPs, ministers, head of NZ Broadcasting, NZFA to protest when they stopped doing them

My 1st FA Cup final was year before when Tommy Hutchinson scored both goals as Spurs and Man City drew 1-1, then Ricky Villa scored that great goal in the replay to win it 3-2 for Spurs

I watched ever Cup Final from 1973. - 2016. All were "live" except 1974, Liverpool v Newcastle,  due to BBC industrial action meant a delayed telecast.

By the way, QPR don't do the cul. We field reserves and lose in this round. So we can concentrate on playing shark football and fight relegation.

I ran a petition to get them reinstated and got a  fair number of signatures. Sent them off the Minister for Broadcasting ( name?).  It turns out he was a football fan. His office rang and said it was an 'operational matter' but explained the Minister was going to 'have a word'.

He then took my petition to the Evening Post, bless him, and they ran a nice little story.

Soon after the results came back. However, National Radio had one of their people read the results instead of the BBC voice., James Alexander Gordon.  The new reader didn't understand pace or timing...but they were back.

That's right they were just after the news. I was a total geek and had all the fixtures already written out and I wrote in the scores as they were read. then I would go to my Shoot! (or was it Match) magazine league table and adjust everything according to the results.

What year did they stop broadcasting them?

I also remember in the mid 80's Big League Soccer started showing highlights of Scottish games but there were so many complaints that they had to drop it haha

Tonite it is Hereford v Fleetwood really hope the Bulls can get through to the next round!

apparently if Hereford get knocked out this will be the first time since 1960/61 that no non league team made it to the 3rd round.

Hereford FC have enlisted the help of a JCB and fans with shovels at snowbound Edgar Street to ensure that Thursday's televised FA Cup second-round replay with League One side Fleetwood goes on.

YES (well maybe not as this is a NZ football teams message board and there are admin(s) that don't even know who Paolo Maldini was!!!)  but it was a thread on the FA Cup so yes I'd expect you to know what a JCB was
