Check out the BBC website - what was mutterings now seems to be rather more certain. Auntie BBC not known for placing big news on scant evidence (well, unless its serving British Foreign Policy/Propaganda, but that's a different story...)

As a spurs fan it seems ridiculous so early on in the season, especially after a couple of 5th placings. But here is the acid question....

Is Jol the person to take THFC into the top four on a regular basis?

So my fellow Yid/Yellow army (there's a few of you out there it seems)...what do you think?

I can't help but laugh.

-Jol gets you 5th two seasons in a row, far better than normal.
-You spend like crazy in the transfer period.
-There's loads of hype regarding your top four chances.
-You lose your first 2 matches to rubbish sides.
-You sack your coach.
-"Say we are bottom of the league and we thought we were Champions League".

Bugger! Good effort Jol. The chairman's going to kill spurs. But the guy they's fingered to replace him ain't too bad at all. He'll end up talking crap like Moan-eenio and benetez

He has fallen out with Berbatov, could be a case of one or the other. A chap from Spain is being lined up to take over.

wot's your thoughts HH, you are closer to the club than most of us

if it's the Berbatov thing, then i'd worry about a club that let players push a manager out (though some say City players did that with Parkinson)

I think Jols worth keeping on, I wonder if Chris Hughton (or someone else?) needs to be given more influence in terms of tightening up the defense

(liked your comments about the Beeb and British foriegn policy)

I guess it's a question of whether BMJ should be seen as 'great', because he's done better in the top flight than I can remember THFC doing for ages  or whether one asks 'is that his limit?'. Clearly the likes of Ferguson have set the precedent of 'give him a bit more time and he'll come good', but the barmy scotsman (bit like our Yellow Fever version really ) possesses certain personal attributes that might always make him the a notch or two above the personable BMJ.

I would enjoy the likes of Roy Keane (never thought I'd say this) to come in, on the back of some top level success in a few years. THFC have always cried out for someone with a bit of steel...that has been Spurs a.c.l for years!

As for the gooner laughing....not surprised mate, because you're  probably concerned that the boys from N17 OAP are gonna kick your mobs arse!

So, am I opening myself up for ridicule as yet another Spurs fan who hopes for much more...yes probably. I'm just a bit sick of UEFA entry and maybe a good cup run (although even that has dried up a bit). You just can't please some of the people all of the time....

If any side didn 't put a few past Derby they should be asking questions. Derby are absolute rubbish.

Haven't seen the BBC site, but my boss (a Spurs fan) tells me that BMJ has got one foot out the door and that some Spanish coach has been lined up to replace him. Any truth in that? My boss has fired off a few e-mails to various people at Spurs to moan about the situation. Auckland Jag2007-08-22 12:49:43

AFAIK Jol is staying but has had additional pressure placed on him to deliver results.

This will be pretty destabilising though and I expect he'll leave before the season's through.

I've been to several Everton Vs Spurs fixtures during early to mid Nineties and they were quite possibly the worst games of football I'd ever seen....until the other day!
