Arsenal Picks Thread 2018/19

Alright, everyone has completed their season picks in time, well done!

The only thing that just occurred to me... for the picks where you name the round that a team goes out of a comp, e.g. no's 10, 11, 12, 13 and 19, if you put "final" or "finalist", I am taking that to mean LOSING finalist. You do not get the points whether they win or lose the final... if you want to pick them as winning it, please put "Winners". 

Is that understood? Feel free to go and update your post to clarify if you need to. You can do this through the weekend even though deadline for changing is midnight, just in case someone doesn't see this comment today.

Top scorer this week was Brumbys, who picked Lacazette. A ballsy pick given it was his first start of the season! A lot of us picked Mkhitaryan who only came on for a few minutes in the end. 

Leighbo, get back in there, don't despair, the gap is not large, can be made up in a single bonus round... 

When it was 2-1 and Laca had an assist I was feeling pretty chuffed with myself!

RonnieMac is about to go on holiday, so he is going to make some picks ahead of time. On that note, just a summary for what is coming up... 

Obviously we have the international break now, so next round starts on Sept 15. 

To re-cap, whenever Arsenal/Liverpool/Chelsea play eachother, we have "special rounds" like we did for Arsenal vs Chelsea. 

However, as mentioned before we started, when Liverpool or Chelsea play OTHER members of the "big 6", we will have a normal round of picks for that game for that team (same rules as the regular Arsenal game picks), if that makes sense. So for example, in the next round, Liverpool play Spurs, so we pick the score, and two Liverpool players, and standard rules apply. And obviously we pick the same for the Arsenal game like normal.

Hi all

Just thinking about the Europa League, and the League Cup, and how we've got things working this season...

I'm thinking that to make it simple and clean, we do not do picks for the Europa League or Champions League group stages, or the League Cup, at least initially.

It's set up to be quite league-centric with the tidy rounds etc.

Is everyone ok if we avoid Europe picks, and League Cup picks, at least until Jan when the FA Cup starts? Then perhaps we see where we're at, and perhaps do some picks for those comps in the 2nd half of the season?

As I said before my math is usually good, but it's only human to miss the odd thing...

Only reason I checked was because I thought I'd put a multi on it but stupidly bet the draw on that match *facepalm*

Was there a final decision on whether we pick the Europa games?

There were 3 "this's" on the post, and no other feedback, so I'm thinking lets leave that out for now (as well as the League Cup), at least until the new year. We'll see how I go with keeping up with everything and assess then... That's when the FA Cup starts as well, which I'm thinking would be nice and easy to do picks for, since we're all in it and it initially falls on weekends. I'm just worried it will get a bit hard with Liverpool in the Champs League but Arsenal/Chelsea in the Europa, and the games being out of sync etc...

Leighbo hasn't been seen around these parts for a wee bit, I fear he may be dropping out. Surge you forgot this week but don't be fazed bro! The gap may seem bit but it's early doors, the bonus rounds etc to come will provide plenty of chances for the table to flip around many times. 

Ok, we have a special round weekend with Chelsea playing Liverpool at Stamford Bridge. Arsenal play Watford at home. Both games on Saturday night. 

Arsenal pick will be normal: Pick score + 2 players.

For Chelsea vs Liverpool, pick the final score, pick the HT score (put in brackets), pick two players from EACH team, and how for extras, we do a player head-to-head battle, and also a first team to score pick.

Hazard vs Salah: Pick one, whomever gets the highest Whoscored rating gets 2 points. 

And pick Liverpool or Chelsea to score first, if you pick correctly, 2 points.
