Plans for away trips to Aussie this season?

While there will be heaps of people going to the home / away games this year, I'm wondering if any of our usual (or potenial new!) trans-tasman travellers have got any plans for away trips! With plenty of specials being offered by Air NZ, would be good to coordinate some early plans!

First trip booked for me - Newcastle away on 22 March... A way off I know, but at $380 return it was too good to miss!

Where and when are you planning or booked to travel?

Thinking of flying to Melbourne on Boxing Day, going to Nix vs Heart on the 27 Dec and then Tards vs WSW on 28 Dec (both at AAMI), then off to Sydney on New Years Eve for Nix vs WSW on New Years Day.

Only drawback is the cost of flights in the holiday period and the cost of accom in Sydney over NY's.

I figured that since it's my first proper away trip, I may as well try to fit in as many games as I can.

Booked for the Heart & WSW double - I've been meaning to start individual threads for these games - I'll get on to it.

To avoid the crazy accommodation prices in downtown Sydney on New Year’s day I've booked a night's accommodation
in Parramatta on the 1st (much more reasonable prices) and will then head in to town.

Heart game should be a good one, hopefully you guys can drag some Barmy Army along to add to the Away Zone.

There's at least 3 of us booked on this one already. Go on Smithy, you know you want to! :-D I'm sure Kiwi Hatter and others could be interested with this much notice! And you know that Timmy V and the boys will look after us!

Air NZ doing an Aussie sale atm but only Sydney away on 23/11 is in the travel periods. From $149 there, $199 back if any one is interested.

Another airfare sale going on - Qantas & Virgin at least (which means that Air NZ will have specials too).

Is the Newcastle 22 March game still getting a few punters?  Or the week earlier in Melbourne v Heart?  Or both?  Whatever happened to the club coordinated special away game?  Do we know any more?

So many questions ....

I'm aware of 7 that are going across the ditch to Newcastle for the 22 March game.... Not sure if Coops has convinced Commander (Home Command) that he needs to go as well yet?! :-D

And I think that the week before V Heart coincides with the F1...?

Brill. Serious consideration for the Jets match then.  I've not been there before (well, not to the ground - did manage to drive past the Parthenon Milk Bar about 30 years ago).

Going to try and make all the games here in Melbourne. Even though I live in Melbourne, they still count as away trips!
