I'm not even going to dignify that with a response! But you can take Helen back any time you like.
Actually we've tasted Chardonnay before. Why don't you come and have a beer (and I'm not talking that gobsh*te Lion Red or DB Draught, I mean a real beer).
And introduce you to a properly made Latte.
Oh and did I mention we'd show you central north island buggers how to drink properly.
The NZ Barista Champion is from Christchurch and the runner up is from Wellington so get your hand off it.
Call it adding some much needed culture into your fine city.
the true capital city of NZ (i.e. Auckland)
There's more culture in the yoghurt I had for breakfast than in Auckland
Enough of the jibes. Come, have a great time. Check out the Backbencher before the game (across the road from Parliament) and the Four Kings after the game.

Out of Towners Phoenix road trip.. 28 Nov
Hello all ye faithful.
A couple of us lads up here in the true capital city of NZ (i.e. Auckland) are staunch Phoenix supporters and decided that like pilgrms to Mecca, we'd get off our lazy butts and head down to the ring of fire to experience the fever for ourselves...
We thought we'd do our bit for the Wellington economy and show our support in person for the Phoenix against those dirty bastards, the Melbourne Victory on November 28th, 2008.
Now this wee idea has spawned and in the space of a week, we've managed to book 10 of us flights down to Welly - and the idea is to take over the Wellington Central Backpackers and Phoenix the place out with out of towner supporters. Lets fill the tin with as many out of towners as possible, throw some wedge into official Fever pubs and memorabilia stores and then hit Courtney Place and get Wellington pumping.

In return, we expect you show us how to properly support a football team - something we royally cocked up a few years ago. (FC Kingz anyone?) Something about getting your shirts off with 10 to go in a Wellington Southerly which is quite appealing to us Aucklanders.
Anyhow, this is a general post to invite any out of towners to join us and make this fixture the official out of towners pilgrammage to the Ring of Fire.
If you've thought about it but never done it, now is the time to book. Flights are pretty cheap and so is accomodation. So get into it!
Well done all you feverites.
See you 28 Nov.
Cheers
Nails.

Haha, It's the bottom of the North Island mate.
But banter aside, sounds a very good idea. An annual out of towners game to collaborate anyone considering coming for the weekend has got to be a good idea. And we owe Melbourne for taking that Preseason Cup.
Auckland = Fail. End of.
Some people who live (just) North of the Bombays actually did make the effort to see the Phoenix on a regular basis last season.
Love your rallying call and the fact that you're getting down to the BB and the ROF, but where were you last season?!? Or were you waiting to see if would be a success or not before you decided to travel down?!?

Love your attitude Nails, come down to the Capital, do some serious drinking, wind up the locals(which you've made a great start on!) and make some serious noise for the Phoenix.
Get yourself down to the backbencher beforehand, Boycie is a superb host and will talk footy with anyone.
4 Kings afterwards is always good too, Matt & Jose are good lads and the place has got lots of big screens full of sport and nothing but sport, yep thats right, no shortland street crap and wannabe "celebrities" here mate, its all about the sport. ahhh soooo much sport......
Sorry i started daydreaming, anyway good work and we'll see you when you come down.

Four of us up from Ch-Ch for the game (28th). I went last year and loved it and told a few of the boys that we needed to organise a weekend away this season.
Will be at the Backbencher from about 4pm...
