"Oh Wellington is wonderful" has dodgy lyrics, can't see the mums
and kids joining in that one
I reckon we make the 'Wind and Rain and the Phoenix' version our standard, and flag the dodgy one. That way it's more 'ours' rather than copying the version every one else uses. To me there is more pride in something adapted to suit our team (or City).

Bugger the songs PhilStyle, where's the phot of 004, or have you
kept it for your private collection ?
stinks to live in tauranga when its all the way down in welly =P
still myt have to organise a trip with few fellas maybe when we
play adeleide, melbourne or sydney.. whatever will have the biggest
crowd
Or do what I did and outright leave Tauranga to live in Welly :P
*came down for uni*
Initiatiative
Any chance that the lads who want to take the initiative and start
off songs position themselves down the front of YF.
I found it really hard to follow the singing on Friday night,
as I was down the front and the guys that started stuff odd were in
the middle ot the mob. This meant that I had to turn around to get
visual clues as to what we were singing. I noticed that most of the
guys down the front were unable to join in and this ended up
splintering our efforts.
I think it's best to take lead from whoever is at the front
because then we can also all see the game and not have to turn
around all the time . . .
Allocated seating will have an impact Phil. Make sure your
tickets for the opener are near us in AA, BB and CC rows...
A big thumbs up to you guys in the Yellow Fever Zone at the Jets Game.
I was sitting on halfway and you guys were sounding awesome. Keep up the good work.A big thumbs up to you guys in the Yellow Fever Zone at the Jets Game.

or get most interested in?
Be great if we could find something that we could get other
parts of the ground in on.
I was in Aisle 27 and I couldn't really hear actual words but the overall volume of the yellow fever zone was a lot louder than the sydney game.
I heard wellington a couple of times but that was about
it.
There were a few people trying to start up chants around our
area but people gave them looks of disapproval so they
stopped.
Its going to take a bit of time for halfway to catch onto the
whole chanting thing.
I think it'll be good to have chanting on both sides of
halfway if Greek Fever gets underway.

cheers for that info Gooner,
good to know we are getting louder, obviously a way to go
yet
like you say, if the half way lot are surrounded by signing
from both sides they might get the idea
we definitely don't want to be led by us guys down the front unless
we get some imports down there.
seriously though it depends which way the wind is going. against sydney the wind was coming from behind so we up the front could join in easy, but against newcastle we couldnt hear the start of chants so my jovial mate just started his own.

Was loving the chants at the match, only wish I knew more of the
words so I could add my voice more! Being partially deaf doesn't
help me pick them out either... It'll come with practice I'm sure
though.

Be good if we had a tune that everyone joins in with.
"coming down the road" has YF specific lyrics, so prob won't
appeal to all
"Oh Wellington is wonderful" has dodgy lyrics, can't see the
mums and kids joining in that one
"Wellington, wellington wellington" is a possible - prob our
best bet
"Oh when the nix, go marching in" is a goodie, but we haven't
actually sung it yet cos "oh wellington" seems to have number one
spot for that tune

I agree, but come game time I can't help thnik that we'll end
up with the shambles from last game. . .
Perhaps It's time I reprinted the song-sheet. .
shhhh... don't tell Frankie.

Seriously (kind of) don't get too damn regimented over songs.
It's an organic process...what ever wil be, will be, que sera
sera.....oh f**k, ther you go you see.
I am chanting while playing footy on the weekends and at practices
now- damn annoying!

and of course HH your only interest in the 004 photo would be
in safeguarding the completeness of YF archive, so one day a
famous historian can write:
"The complete History of YF and The Nix: a few beers and rugby
was dead!"
Ha! Viva the (Yellow) revolution!
