on the front page was a story from the Nelson Weekly about Alex Ridsdale making the New Zealand U-17 squad for World Cup qualifying. I can't find the rest of the squad anywhere though?

Three for me, and two for them.

How come Mitch Cooper(Gold Coast United) and Izaak Hart(Happoel Tel Aviv) both born in 1994 are not in that list? Does the national coach know their existence?

Maybe they aren't any good.

Three for me, and two for them.

Or maybe they didn't want to/couldn't move to Auckland to train with the team four days a week. Surely New Zealand coaches would know which players are available to play for us.Luis Garcia2010-10-29 17:26:08

Perhaps they turned NZ down. Cooper is eligible for Vanuatu and I think I remember hearing earlier that Hart has Israeli citizenship. Could be that neither want to play for NZ?

Both of them should be sounded out to see if they are keen. Especially Cooper, youngest ever player to get a youth contract with a A - League team.... must have peotential.

It is quite possible the coaches have never hear of these players expecially if they left New Zealand a few years ago, or perhaps have never lived here and a kiwis by decent.

Either way give them a call, the chance to play at a youth world cup in front of numerous scouts would appeal to anyone, especially if they are not in the frame to make Austrlia / Israel u17's

Quote from Steve Cain - The hard part is whittling this group down to 20 because there are a lot of players who are of very similar ability and we have to look at all those little things that differentiate one player from another and quite often its personality, how they conduct themselves and they mentality with which they approach things.
Looking at Steve Cain's last campaign, "What do 95% of all the players chosen have in commin?".
Answer  - They were either out injured for a month or two, could not make it to training or were out of the country. Advice - Dont go to every game and every training if you want to be chosen.

Theyll be players who miss out that talent-wise are good enough to be there but it can come down to the balance of positions.

It can also come down to as a parent how far your c#*K is up his arse or how English you really are?

You can observe a lot just by watching...

Sounds like someone had a negative experience.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

I heard that all Cain is worried about is his CV looking good, and that he can't coach to save himself.

Lol. Will not comment on his coaching ability because of privacy issues but you have to be thankful he is a Mathematics teacher at Kelston boys, not an English teacher because if you read a lot of his articles, the Englishmen spelling leaves a lot to be about!

Um wouldn't getting good results make his CV look good?

I'm guessing that must have been a match fixing allegation from gaffa_hb...

Interesting.

You won't comment on his coaching ability because of "privacy issues" but you're happy to comment on the fact that he selects players whose cock he has in his bottom.

Surely cock-in-bottom-ness is more private?

In addition of Izaak Hart and Mitch Cooper, there is a third young striker who would be eligible to play for NZ U17: Shamus Moffat

Yes. Some terrible omissions.

Three for me, and two for them.
