I Was There! Were You?
I've just got to Exeter from going and watching the boys in Wrexham. Meet up with a bunch of kiwis in London and took a coach upto the game and was proudly wearing my AW shirt (mitre one from late 90s, our best looking strip I think). I was at the very front of the kiwi fans waving a big balck NZ flag...
Anyway, who else here on the forum was at the game?
I wish I was, I stayed up for it though.

Saw you on TV, right on kick-off, centre of camera.
I've got the same old Mitre shirt somewhere. It was certainly
one of our best strips. I remember being shown 3 or 4 Mitre
prototypes of potential AW's shirts at Soccer New Zealand back
then, and recommending to John Morton that they went with the one
they eventually chose. I've always been proud of my very limited
contribution to the sartorial elegance of our national
players.
yeah u and the nz fans were on tv, i saw u with your flag

I was there as well.I was on the right side of the nz fans half way
up. close to the goal line end. I was impressed. I think there was
200-250 nz supporters there. Disco-MArt, how many kiwi's do you
reckon were there?
It was a great game to watch. I was just about to have a
heart attack even after the first goal. When we replied again after
Wales equalised, I couldn't believe. It was great to get a draw. It
was even better to get a couple of goals. An area we normally lack
in.
I recon that there must have been at least 200 of us but probably
more. I loved the fact that at the end of the game, the Welsh
police escorted us because they were afraid that some welsh fans
might have been a bit keen for a scrap!
The Welsh I spoke to after the game heaped praise on us
though, which made me very happy and those of us who came by coach
had a photo taking with the Welsh FA president who thanked all Kiwi
fans at the game for the atmosphere we created and the way we
behaved!
Obviously he is used to British football fans!
haha.. brilliant!
