Sorry I had to chuckle at 'overcrowded FIFA calendar'. From our perspective at least...

But for Socceroos is complete opposite, esp now they have been invited to Copa America.

FFA are already saying an AWs game would be 2022 at the earliest!!

Opportunity was actually possibly there in November window last year when they had just one game in Jordan. So rather than AWs playing Lithuania, could have been a game verus Socceroos in London following AWs Irish game?? I'm sure it's more complicated than that, but sometimes wonder how much NZF and FFA talk to each other.

For 2020 the Socceroos have 2 WC qualifiers in March window (Nepal & Kuwait), another 2 qualifiers in June (Jordan & Chinese Taipei), then straight after fly to South America for Copa America and minimum 5 games there.

I imagine then further World Cup qualifiers in Sept-Oct-Nov 2020 windows.

Global warming is certainly a thing, but it's far more an issue about restrictions on - back burning, vegetation clearance near houses & a reduction in cattle being allowed to graze the undergrowth in certain forested areas - so greatly increasing the amount of tinder dry 'fuel'.

It's a complicated issue for Oz, that a few less planes in the sky won't solve.

Herald on Sunday Michael Burgess spoke with Danny Hay saying that the new age group coaches are (U17) Martin Bullock and (U20) Tony Readings. If its the mens team then rough on Des hopefully he's not lost to football in NZ.

Its paywalled but if you have a library card with Wellington or Auckland then you can read the Herald for free using the PressReader app.

It's worth noting that before anything else, the original dates of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the 2020 OFC Under-19 Championship clashed.

The NZ Football announcement is here.

Sounds like the same group of parents as they did with Kevin Fallon in July 2014.

They think they will have a better chance in being in the team with Des.

Don't get me wrong, Des is a better coach than Danny and his hanger oners.

"Legal showdown looms after Mt Albert gives Fallon the boot for allegedly swearing at rival.

Players on a top Auckland college football team are said to be planning to boycott games - and even threatening to leave the school - after their coach was sacked.

Kevin Fallon, the former All Whites coach, has been involved with Mt Albert Grammar School's football teams and academy for 18 years. His involvement has led to almost 30 local and national titles.

Late last week, Fallon was told he was no longer needed. His departure follows an alleged sideline incident involving an opposing school, the facts of which are disputed." NZ Herald.

Why the fudge do the players need to step up and say "Hang on, wtf is going on with our coaches"? How are people making bad enough decisions that that even needs to be a thing?

NZF manage to bungle from one debacle to the next with no sign of competence in between. Change the people at the top, but nothing works any better. No wonder players eligible for other countries can't wait to be off, the way Des has been treated by NZF and Danny Hay is sickening.

The Des situation came up well before Covid.
